Abram Morris Dancers always dance on the
last Saturday in June, but in 2001 just like the traditional teams we
danced over two days. The last "traditional" performance took place on July 1st
1901 and
exactly one hundred years later, on Sunday July 1st 2001 the Abram Morris
Dance was performed on the Morris Dancers Ground in Park Lane

The Saturday performances followed the usual
pattern finishing with a meal in the evening at the Dover Lock Inn when
all the participants were presented with a commemorative teapot.

On Sunday July 1st, after dancing on the
Morris Dancers Ground, performances were given in various locations in the
village before a wreath was laid on the grave of Adam Ingram, in Abram
Churchyard. This short ceremony was attended by two of his surviving
nieces. |
