491 SURVEYOR'S REPORT (Para 5)

MORRIS DANCERS GROUND - I am sorry to report that my investigations have not been satisfactory. Nobody seems to be in possession of any writing or definite information. The position of the land is clearly defined on the Ordnance plans, where it is shown to be about 20 yards long and 14 yards wide (average). We have no plans prior to the one of 1846.

Highways, Sanitary, and Building Committee - Wednesday May 9th 1923

80 SURVEYOR'S REPORT (Para 4).

MORRIS DANCERS GROUND - I have not been able to learn anything further than that in 1845 the land belonged to Adam Chadwick, and the tenants were Thomas and William Lyon. Tithe rent is being paid by the Moss Hall Coal Co. As the Council's law clerks are legal advisers to the Company they might have some information, but if not it would appear that a perusal of Dr Chadwick's will is essential.

82 MORRIS DANCERS GROUND Resolved: That the surveyor be authorised to take all necessary steps in relation to this matter, including a consultation with the Law Clerk and obtaining if necessary a copy of the late Mr Chadwick's Will.

Highways, Sanitary, and Building Committee - Wednesday May 7th 1924

  1. SURVEYOR’S REPORT (Para 1)

MORRIS DANCERS GROUND - I have seen Mr Ellis again, and there is no further information, so I suggest fixing the four corner posts forthwith.

  1.  MORRIS DANCERS GROUND Resolved: That the Surveyor place posts on the Morris Dancers' Ground in Park Lane, on behalf of the young men of Abram.
